The Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls agreed on a trade Wednesday night that sends Jabari Parker, Bobby Portis, and future draft picks to Washington in exchange for Otto Porter.

Wizards Get :

Jabari Parker (Forward)

Bobby Portis (Guard)

2021 2nd Round Draft Pick

Bulls Get :

Otto Porter

The Wizards are making big moves in attempt to close the four game gap between themselves and the playoffs. Washington currently sits in 10th place, and are trailing the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat in the 7th and 8th positions in the east. The addition of veteran guard Bobby Portis and young forward Jabari Parker fills some big gaps in this Wizards team. Washington was in need of another body at the point guard position after John Wall suffered an injury in his home, ruling him out of the remainder of the season.

Jabari Parker brings a $20 million team option activated at the end of this season, with the Wizards uncommitted to signing him up long term. Until then, the Wizards are getting a player with great potential on the offensive end. Parker has proven that he can consistently score in the NBA after he averaged 20.1 points per game his third season in the league. Parker is now in his 5th season, and will be excited to be back on the court. Parker was shunned this year in Chicago, and was benched for most of the season.

Chicago received Otto Porter, who is in his 5th season in the league, averaging 12.5 points per game this season.

The Wizards were a busy team on Wednesday night, completing two trades on the night. After bringing in Parker, Washington went on to trade small forward Markieff Morris to the Pelicans in exchange for Wesley Johnson.

The Pelicans look like the winner in this deal, acquiring a slightly more productive player. Morris is averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season.
