Top 3 players in the 2019 NBA Playoffs (so far)
With all of the world class talents on display in the postseason, we take a look at the top three performers in the NBA playoffs so far
- Damian Lillard - 31.1 PPG, 5.7 APG, 2.1 SPG
At times this postseason, Damian Lillard has been a one-man team for the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard has four games with 30+ points in the playoffs so far, and is averaging the third-most points out of all players in the postseason. The guard play of Lillard pushed Portland past the OKC Thunder in the first round, with the exclamation point coming in the form of a buzzer-beating, series-ending three pointer from almost half court in Game 5.
Lillard is shooting the three-ball at 42.5% so far in the postseason, and has clearly been one of the top three performers in this year’s playoffs.
- Kawhi Leonard - 31.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 1.3 SPG
After missing out on the playoffs last year, Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard has returned with vengeance. Leonard is averaging 31.3 points per game in the playoffs so far, including a 45-point explosion in the first game of the Raptors Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the 76ers.
Leonard is not only an offensive juggernaut, but he’s also extremely effective on the defensive side of the ball. Leonard has recorded two or more steals in three playoffs game this season, and often has the responsibility of guarding the opposing team’s biggest offensive threat. With his huge contribution on both sides of the ball, Kawhi Leonard is more than deserving of the second best player of this season’s playoffs (so far).
- Kevin Durant - 34.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.9 APG
At number on on our list of top performers in the 2019 playoffs, we have Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant. Durant is playing his best playoff basketball of his life, averaging more points (34.3) in the postseason than he has scored before. Durant scored a playoff-career high 50 points in a huge Game 6 against the Clippers, ending that series with his monster performance. KD is shooting 52% from the field and 40% from three-point range, making him the hottest shooter in the playoffs. Expect KD to continue his dominance as his Warriors continue their march through the Western Conference Playoffs.
