Robert Kraft charged with misdemeanor

NFL

On Friday, February 22nd, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution in Florida. This report broke early in the morning and the story has had heavy coverage ever since and for good reason.

The spa that Kraft attended was supposedly part of a larger prostitution and human trafficking ring. Whether Robert Kraft did or did not know about this is unknown as of right now but a spokesperson for Kraft came out and said, “We categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity. Because it is a judicial matter, we will not be commenting further.”

It is not just Robert Kraft who was caught in this whole thing. There was a multitude of people arrested in this whole situation and multiple reports are saying that Kraft is not even the biggest name who was involved in this whole operation. Again, whether this is true or not remains to be seen.

The NFL shortly released a statement later that day that said, “The NFL is aware of the ongoing law enforcement matter and will continue to monitor developments.” Many people have come out and said they demand big consequences against the Patriots, such as being stripped of all of their draft picks.

This will most likely not happen as this was not an on-field issue and punishment for owners in the past has not been out of this world. Colts owner Jim Irsay received a $500k fine and a six-game suspension for his actions a few years ago.

This is still an ongoing news story and more will be developed in the coming weeks but, as for right now, we can only speculate the reasoning and how involved Robert Kraft was.
