The NFL has recently investigated the Dallas Cowboys and the role that they had in a case involving Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas.It had been rumored that members of the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff may have had illegal communication with Thomas early in the 2018-19 season.

NFL.com has reported that the invention of the Cowboys has concluded with no evidence of tampering. League sources have reported that the Cowboys were fully cooperative in the investigation, and that no fine will be issued.

Earl Thomas was drafted in 2010 by the Seattle Seahawks out of Texas University. Thomas has played all 9 of his NFL seasons with the Seahawks. It was reported that the Cowboys and Seahawks were in trade discussions for Thomas before his leg injury. The injury ended both the trade talks and the season for Thomas. The safety has already expressed his desire to leave Seattle, as he and the organization failed to agree on a contract extension.

Thomas is likely to test free agency, with the Dallas Cowboys expected to be one of the frontrunners who have the best chance of landing Thomas. Other teams reported to be interested in Thomas are the Cardinals, Texans, and Saints.
