The Warriors are in the midst of a battle for first place in the West. As it stands, the Warriors have a slight, half-game lead over the Nuggets. Denver has the stronger remaining schedule, with the Nuggets still set to play the Rockets and Thunder next week. The Warriors have a slightly easier road to the end of the season, but will have to play the Nuggets before the end of the season.
On the other side of the Western Conference standings, the Oklahoma City Thunder are in a fight of their own. OKC is currently tied for eighth place in the West, and just a game back from the fifth and sixth place teams. OKC has to play the Rockets, Nuggets, Pacers, and Bucks before the end of the season, making it difficult for the Thunder to make moves in the standings.
