Charlotte took care of business on Tuesday night as well, beating a full-forced Spurs team in overtime at home. The Hornets beat San Antonio 125-116, keeping the postseason hopes alive in Charlotte.
Kemba Walker went off on Tuesday, stuffing the statsheet with 38 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds. Tuesday’s performance represented the third 30+ points game in the last four outings for Walker, who has been indispensable during this four game winning streak.
Charlotte is finding form at the perfect time of the season, but they will have to finish the season strong in order to make the playoffs. As it currently stands, the Hornets are sitting in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, just one game back from the Miami Heat in ninth place, and a game and a half back from the eighth place Magic.
Out of the three teams fighting for the eighth and last playoff spot in the East, he Hornets and the Magic are the teams who are playing at extremely high levels. Orlando has protected their narrow lead well as of late, winning their last six games in a row. With the Hornets and Magic stringing together victories, this playoff race might just go down to the last game of the season.
