The Sacramento Kings are making moves before the NBA trade deadline comes, bringing in forward Harrison Barnes from the Dallas Mavericks. The Kings traded veteran Zach Randolph and young asset Justin Jackson, second year guard from North Carolina. The Kings continue to surprise this season, and have gotten the better of this trade. Harrison Barnes offers a consistent scorer who can create his own shot, and has averaged up to 19.3 points per game in his career (2016-17). The Kings are currently 1.5 games back from a playoff spot, but will be a better team after this trade. The Kings playoff hopes got a boost this week when the Clippers traded away their leading rebounder and scorer Tobias Harris. Watch for this Kings team to make a run, passing the Clippers and getting into the Western Conference playoffs.
In other news, no deals are close to being done for Pelicans All-Star forward Anthony Davis. New Orleans has slowed talks, and a deal is beginning to look less likely as the hours tick by, with under 12 hours left until the trade deadline.
The Pistons and Bucks did business, with Detroit sending Stanley Johnson to Milwaukee for Thon Maker. Both players are under the age of 22, giving each player a fresh start, and each team a young player filled with potential.
