The Titans defense was able to make the game interesting in the first half when Jayon Brown picked off Andrew Luck and took it back 22 yards for a TD, making it a one possession game at that point, 14-7. Indy eventually got the running game going with Marlon Mack. Mack had 119 yard and a touchdown from 25 carries, opening up the play action game for Andrew Luck.
Backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert found little success in the air against the Colts, giving little threat to take men out of the defensive box. Indy often played Derrick Henry and the Tennessee run heavily, stifling the Titans to under 100 yards rushing. The loss ends Tennessee's season, making them 9-7 in coach Mike Vrabel’s first season.
With the win over the Titans, Indy qualifies for the 6th spot in the AFC, claiming the last Wild Card spot. The Colts will go to Houston and play their division rival Texans in the first round. Houston and Indy split the season matchups 1-1, with each affair being decided by 3 points, with the Colts getting the better of Houston in their last matchup, 24-21. Indy is on fire coming into the game, winning 9 out of there last 10 games, hitting their stride at the perfect time.
